The Collaborative Visitation Program (CVS) is a contracted Child Welfare service offered through the joint efforts of Child Protective Services and Family Services. This service is utilized when children have been removed from their homes by the Child Welfare Agency, usually due to abuse or neglect. The vision of the program is to enhance the quality of interactions between the children and their families in a supportive setting throughout the visitation process. CVS is based on a therapeutic visitation model which focuses on the strengths of the family, addresses the conditions that lead to placement, and offers education, problem solving, and skill building techniques to enhance the interactions between parents and children, and to provide for more quality-based time together.
